Aztec Stadium the sanctuary of the sports

Aztec Stadium, is a sport ground in Mexico City, Mexico used above all for football events. Its seating capacity of 100 makes it the third largest stadium in the world and the largest in North America. It is the official home pitch of the Mexico national football team and the Mexican team Club America; and the former home ground of CF Atlante, Cruz Azul, and Necaxa.

estadio_azteca_on_galleryfull.jpgAztec Stadium was the primary events for football (soccer) events during the 1968 Summer Olympics and is the only stadium ever to host two FIFA World Cup final matches, in 1970 and 1986. It also hosted the 1986 quarter-final between Argentina and England in which Diego Maradona scored both the “Hand of God goal” and the “Goal of the Century”. The stadium also hosted the “Game of the Century”, when Italy defeated Germany with scores of 4-3 in extra time.

This one is one of so many attractions touristic that offers the city of mexico, other attractions are: the restaurants, the nightlife, the shops, the culture…

The Mexican history told by his museums

In Mexico city we can fine different attractions touristics, a marvels hotels, restaurants (with his menues elaborated from his kitchen hybridization ), the active nightlife. Now is the time to talk about the culture.

Museo Anahuacalli: this spectacular museum was designed by Diego Rivera to house his own collection of pre-Hispanic art, typically of pottery and stone figures. The fortress like building is made of dark volcanic stone and incorporates many pre-Hispanic stylistic features. It also contains one of his studios and some of his work.

The Great Temple Museum: exceptional archeological objects found in the very central temple of the Aztecs at Tenochtitlan. The museum has two areas, each one devoted to material and spiritual world of the Mexican culture. Just in front of it remains the city foundations and in the back the contrasting Christian cathedral.

Museo Nacional de Historia: The Chapultepec Castle was the former home of Maximilian and is the current home of the National Museum of History. Tourist to the castle can inspect the various salons, with their opulent furnishings and the splendid imperial carriage. Murals by Orozco, Siqueiros and O´Gorman are also housed here. The incredible view of the city and manicured grounds make the trip to the castle even more spectacular.

Museo Nacional de Arte: Exhibits now feature mostly Mexican artists. A whole room is devoted to plastic arts, of México, from the 1930s to the 1960s. Other rooms feature revolving exhibits of contemporary painters, sculptors, lithographers, and photographers from around the world.

Museo del Palacio Nacional: Build from the ruins of the Aztec temple, the palace was erected on the site of the former palace of Moctezuma, and Cortés maintained his headquarters here. The creative building has undergone countless changes in the past four centuries. Today the National Palace houses the offices of the president and the Finance Ministry. The central staircase and mezzanine are decorated with some of Diego Rivera´s most stirring murals, giving a vivid pictorial history of Mexico.

Pink Zone the place chosen by the tourism gay

Mexico City tourism officials detained a press conference Aug. 16 to announce an accord with the International Gay and Lesbian Travel Association to promote the Mexican capital as an international gay tour destination.

Mexico City is ready to welcome these groups of consumers because the town has all the cultural attributes and the infrastructure that gay and lesbian tourists look for, at the time to think about Tourist Destination for their next vacations.

Barrales and IGLTA President Matt Skallerud said the city and the IGLTA would work jointly to help hotels, airlines, restaurants and other businesses increase gay tourism to Mexico City.
The Mexican capital boasts a wide collection of cultural attractions, including world-class museums and art galleries, theaters and dance companies, that appeal to gay as well as straight visitors, and its Zona Rosa area is home to a large variety of gay nightclubs, small shops, sidewalk cafes and hotels.

Zona Rosa or the pink zone, referring to the pink colored tiles on the street, stills their today. It was once the high-class residential area of Mexico City, before tourism, shops, restaurants, hotels and commercial office space took it over. Today, it is the center of all moneymaking activity in Mexico, with up-market shops, hotels, restaurants and office space.
